Counselling, Coaching & HOLISTIC THERAPY in Warrington & Online

Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t know which therapy is best for me, what should I do?

Don’t worry, we can discuss this as part of your FREE initial consultation and find the best way forward for you. Sessions can be booked as a singular approach (i.e., just counselling), or sessions can be uniquely tailored using a blend of the available options.

During the consultation, if you are interested in combining therapies, let me know so the different therapies can be discussed before we agree to how we will work.

Is it ethically ok to combine therapies?

In short, yes. Many studies have shown that counselling and coaching complement each other well. Similarly, research shows the integration of Reiki with talking therapies can be done in an ethical way.

As part of my counselling qualification, I researched this topic myself, and understand how to combine in a way that enhances the therapeutic relationship, the therapeutic process, and client outcomes.

Your voice will be heard, and combining therapies will only be considered if you want to and if you give informed consent. I engage in supervision to ensure my practice is always protecting clients from harm.

What will my initial consultation and first therapy session be like?

The initial consultation (over the phone) will allow us to talk about what has led you to seek therapy, how we might work together, and it also gives you the chance to ask any questions you might have about the process. The consultation also helps us to decide if we are a good match. It is important that you feel comfortable and that you can see us working together.

If this is not the case, you will not get the most out of therapy. If you are happy to proceed, we will book your first session and I will send you a copy of the agreement to review (outlining how we will work together).

All first sessions begin with a review of our agreement, and some intake questions. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions. Once this is done, we will begin your therapy experience.

Are your services confidential?

Everything you share with me is private, and this is one of the benefits of accessing professional therapy, as it allows you to explore what is going on for you openly and honestly.

However, it is important for you to know that there may be some occasions where breaching confidentiality is necessary, for example, if you or somebody else is at risk of harm. This is very rare, and we will discuss confidentiality fully as part of the contracting process within your first session.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required varies for everyone. I predominately work long-term with clients, but I do also offer short-term work. This will be discussed during our initial consultation and reviewed regularly throughout the therapeutic process.

How often will my sessions be?

Sessions are usually once a week (same time and day). However, I am guided by my clients and so, if you require a more flexible approach, this can be discussed. At the beginning, I believe regular therapy (at least bi-weekly) is most beneficial. As the work progresses, it may feel right to come to sessions less frequently, and this will be discussed.

I currently see clients on a Wednesday and Thursday, with limited appointments on a Saturday.

Please enquire to check if I have current availability.

Where is your therapy room?

My therapy room is a tranquil and peaceful space where sessions can be held in-person or online. I am based from my home (Warrington, WA3) in a converted garage space.

I am located close to Junction 23 of the M6, meaning I am easily accessible from Warrington, Wigan, St.Helens, Newton-le-Willows, Leigh and Ashton. There is also a bus stop just around the corner.

Exact location details will be provided once we have arranged your first session.

Can I access therapy with you online?

Absolutely! Access therapy wherever you are! Online sessions can be held via MS Teams or WhatsApp video call. If you have a quiet space, where you are free from distractions, and a good internet connection, we will be able to do the work.

How and when is payment made?

To secure your session, I require payment in full within 24 hours of booking. Payment can be made via bank transfer or cash.

What happens if I cancel?

It is important that you feel ready to commit to engaging in therapy, and that your diary allows you to attend your sessions consistently. However, I understand that sometimes things come up and you may need to cancel a session.

Cancellations made over 24 hours in advance of your session can be rescheduled to a later date. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be non-refundable.
